Let's Get Christmassy! Music Edition.

I recently got into a discussion about all time classic Christmas songs with a friend on Facebook and we compared favorites. I thought I would link the three Christmas songs we singled out: the one I liked, the one he liked, and the mutually liked song (I don't dislike his choice, but it just doesn't resonate with me as much as it apparently does with him and visa versa with my choice and him).

First up, the song that started it all when I linked it on Facebook and he commented that it was also one of his all time favorites:

Mannheim Steamroller's God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. We were both slightly surprised to find this recording is older than both of us (we're both mid-eighties kids), but it has held up really well.

My friend then suggested that this song was the other Christmas classic he could not do without. I present to you, on behalf of my friend, Carol of the Bells as performed by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I had to look this up. I had heard of it before and was pretty sure I had heard it before but it hadn't stuck in my head. It is awesome but I told him I had a soft spot for a different version of Carol of the Bells, my own personal Christmas tradition, performed by the Celtic Women:

So that is my Christmas Music posts. Share your favorites in the comments below and please check out my Christmas Pinterest Board and link your own Christmassy collections!
