This morning Coryn decided that the dryer was a spaceship.
She climbed in, asked me to do a count down, and then she would announce where she had landed, pop her head out, look at me, and say, "An alien!" or at her sister and say, "Oh, what a cute little baby alien!"
It was pretty cute. At one point she was yelling, "I can't get it to stop."
"Try reversing the polarity of the thrusters," I said, thinking I'd heard something similar on Star Trek at some point.
"That didn't work!"
"Eject the core!"
"No, too late! I'm falling into the sun!"
"Oh no! You'll burn up!"
"No, I won't!" The dryer door popped open, she looked at Caen and said, "Oh look! A sun dog!"
She visited Mars, Mercury, and Pluto (which she still won't believe isn't a planet). Later she set out a series of chairs and laundry baskets and told me each one was a planet so she could take turns visiting them all.
When she asked if we could go outside and play with chalk I helped her draw the solar system and we talked a little bit about orbits and planets and such. It was a fun day.
