DISCLAIMER
The H. L. Burke Random Interview is not like other interviews. The questions are all over the place. They have no purpose. Their purpose is their lack of purpose.

A pirate ship with sails flapping in the breeze sails into harbor. On board is our next author, Melissa Sasina!!!

Melissa Sasina

Author Biography

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Melissa Sasina has always been a traveler in her own fantasy worlds. Her love for writing began in her childhood and never let up, leading to the creation of several short stories. Inspired by the words of her High School English teacher, Melissa decided to pursue her passion for the magical as an adult and has since then published two series, The Priestess Trilogy and The Chronicles of Midgard, with a third in the works. When not writing, she enjoys video and tabletop gaming, drawing, and procrastinating on the internet. Melissa still lives in Ohio with her husband and son, although one day she would love to travel the world to the places that are the inspiration behind her writing.

The Interview

If you had a store, what would you sell?
I actually would love to have my own bookstore. I'd have a section dedicated just to Indie authors.
Sum up your life in five words and two punctuation marks.
A pencil, imagination and dreams.
Pirates, Ninjas, or Vikings? Choose carefully.
Oh, that's a tough one. I'll have to go pirates, otherwise I get haunted by one of my characters.
Paper or plastic?
Paper?
On a scale of 1 to 10, what do you think your chances are of surviving the zombie invasion?
With as accident prone as I am, definitely a 2 or 3. XD
You can time travel in an oddly specific way that only allows you to visit other authors. Where do you go and what do you do?
I would go back to when Tolkien was alive and bring with me the Lord of the Rings movies, a device to play them on, and a tv. I'd play them for him and tell him "Look what you did." *smiles*
You receive a contract that allows you to have any pet you want (mythical or real) but in return you have to spend a week AS a pet to a mythical creature of your choice (dragon, giant, sphinx?). Do you take it or do you decline?
If it was a dragon, I would totally take it.
What is the best dream you ever had? Alternately, what is the worst nightmare you’ve ever experienced?
The best dream I ever had was one when I had bought a new house and had my own personal library/writing space. The worst nightmare I ever had was an end of the world scenario where my son and I are separated from my husband and we have to fight to survive until we're reunited. That has actually been a reoccurring nightmare.
If you were to plan a “literary crossover” where the casts/worlds of two books (or series of books) were to combine, which would you choose and how would it go down?
I would combine Intisar Khanani's Sunbolt series with my Chronicles of Midgard and there would be complete chaos when Hitomi and Ril meet. Absolute chaos. the world just might not survive their alliance, lol.
If this question were any question in the world, what question would you want it to be and how would you answer it?
"How is your day going?"
Wonderful, why thank you! ;)
