Random Interview Saturday! Aviya Carmen
The H. L. Burke Random Interview is not like other interviews. The questions are all over the place. They have no purpose. Their purpose is their lack of purpose.
There are nine questions because cats, but these nine questions are subject to change without notice, so the questions one person answers may not be the questions answered by the next author.
A pumpkin coach pulls up to the door and our next author steps out. It's AVIYA CARMEN!
Aviya Carmen grew up as a huge fan of Christian Andersen’s fairytales, and martial art stories. She started writing stories at a young age and took up poetry writing in high school. After completing her Master’s degree in engineering, she attempted several novels, but none turned into full-length fiction until the Legend of Prince Ayron was born.
“The White Forest” is her debut novel. It was inspired by her hike on the Grouse mountains in Vancouver, Canada, and the breathtaking scenery of Scotland.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, visiting castles, learning about ancient cultures, and tackling new languages.
If you had to write only in one crayon color for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
Purple, because it’s my favourite colour. I’ll never get tired of looking at it. Plus, many of my household items are already purple.
What film era do you feel best represents your day to day life?
The silent film era. My day to day life is pretty boring and uneventful, so it would likely look black and white and muted from an onlooker’s perspective. I’m a pretty quiet person, and like to work in peace. But I do travel quite a bit, hey, I never said silent films were boring!
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
The amount of dirt a woodchuck would chuck is equivalent 700 pounds of wood, says google. It must be a good thing that woodchucks don’t chuck wood. Wait, why are they called woodchucks if they don’t chuck wood?
What method do you suggest for dealing with dragons?
This question has been discussed in my household. I would suggest hiding in a secure place until the creature dies of natural causes. Unless you’re superman and have special relationships with dragons, I would not recommend talking to it.
You have superpowers. What are they and what do you do with them?
I have super strength and can fly. I wouldn’t do anything special except to defend myself from the occasional offenders and enjoy the view from the sky. Of course, I can also understand animals, and eavesdrop on their conversations on a regular basis. They are a lot more interesting than most people.
What color is your writing?
If I have to pick just one colour, I would go with purple. It’s also the same crayon colour I picked in question 1.
What is your favorite dinosaur and why?
Does a chameleon count? He’s from the same family as dinosaurs, but a lot smaller and cuter. His eyes can move in all directions and he can even change colour.
You have a choice: coffee still tastes like coffee but has absolutely no caffeine in it ... OR ... coffee tastes like water but still has caffeine. Which do you choose?
The first one. I love the smell of coffee, but can’t really drink it because of the caffeine in it. So the first option is perfect!
If this question were any question in the world, what question would you want it to be and how would you answer it?
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I would live on a tropical island with good internet connection. I’ve always dreamed of living in a cabin with the beach and mountains at my doorsteps. And lots of sunshine all year round.
