Random Interview (and Blog Tour Stop) With Ralene Burke

DISCLAIMER

The H. L. Burke Random Interview is not like other interviews. The questions are all over the place. They have no purpose. Their purpose is their lack of purpose.

There are nine questions because cats, but these nine questions are subject to change without notice, so the questions one person answers may not be the questions answered by the next author.

Today we're doing things a little differently so we can host a blog tour stop for Ralene Burke's (no relation) new release Armor of Aletheia. Let's sit back and hear what she has to say...

Ralene Burke

Bio:

Whether she’s wielding a fantasy writer’s pen, a social media wand, or a freelance editor’s sword, Ralene Burke always has her head in some dreamer’s world. And her goal is to help everyone SHINE BEYOND their circumstances! Her novels, Bellanok and Armor of Aletheia are available on Amazon.

When her head’s not in the publishing world, she is wife to a veteran and homeschooling mama to their three kids. Her Pinterest board would have you believe she is a master chef, excellent seamstress, and all around crafty diva. If she only had the time . . .

You can also find her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or at her website.

The Interview

You have to trade places with one of your characters for a day. Which and why?
I would trade places with Rashka. She's a self-confident, shapeshifting elf who's good with a bow and arrow. I think it would be fun to be her for a day. Maybe just not on a day when she's fighting dragons.

On a scale of 1 to 10, what do you think your chances are of surviving the zombie invasion?
Hmm...maybe a 4? I am pretty resourceful, however I am not necessarily the fittest person or very handy with a weapon. However, if I were with family and friends, my chances would go up quite a bit, because I have some amazing friends with a wide variety of talents.

Pirates, Ninjas, or Vikings? Choose carefully.
I've always had a soft spot for pirates. Thieves with a code. Have you read Serena Chase's Eyes of E'veria series? :)

Fill in the blanks. I am a were____ but I only turn when the ___ is ___.
I am a werecook, but I only turn when the season is autumn.
I'm not big on cooking, but in the fall I like to make soups and stews, even the occasional casserole. I love sweet potatoes. And pumpkin.

You have superpowers. What are they and what do you do with them?
I have superspeed! I burn calories so I can eat all the foods. I get all the housework done so I can focus on writing. I get all the writing done so I can focus on the family. But mostly all the food. :)

You can have ANY creature as a pet, even mythical ones. What's your first pick?
Definitely a unicorn! From their purity to their magic to their beauty...who wouldn't want a unicorn?

If you had the honor of naming something really big (a country, a spaceship, a planet) what would you want it to be and what would you name it?
Uh. I'm not good at naming things. I even struggle with naming places and people in my books! The problem with an abstract question like this is that I tend to name things based on characteristics or instincts I get based on "knowing" the person or place. So, I would probably name an abstract big something "TBD." LOL Or Bob.

What method do you suggest for dealing with dragons?
Earn their trust and loyalty. They make far better allies than enemies.

If this question were any question in the world, what question would you want it to be and how would you answer it?
Why did you choose #SHINEBeyond as your tagline?

#SHINEBeyond is a mission and a challenge, not just for me, but for everyone who I come into contact with. We all have stuff in our lives trying to keep us from realizing our dreams. Everything I do, from my blog to my books to my professional services, encourages people to #SHINEBeyond their pasts, their circumstances, their fears, etc. to live boldly.
